Palmetto 2 Node Owner Queue
This resource provides access to a Node Owner Queue (Partition) on Palmetto 2. Node Owner Partitions are created for faculty who purchased nodes on Palmetto.
Requesting
Select the node owner partition when requesting an allocation. The node owner partition will only show up for the PI who purchased the nodes in the partition. If you would like to grant access so that another faculty member can request the partition in their project, please reach out to us.
You can request your node owner partitions in as many projects as you like (for example, you can request it in a research group project as well as an project for a class). The users allowed to submit jobs to the partition will be the union of all users in all allocations for the partition.
A request for your node owner partition does not grant access to the general queue on Palmetto 2. If you would like for users to access the general queue, you will need to request an allocation on the general queue in addition to the node owner queue.
Using the Resource
An approved allocation on the node owner partition grants access to submit jobs to that partition.
It may take up to 30 minutes between allocation approval (or being added to an approved allocation) and when access control is fully synced and a user can submit a job.
To submit a job to the owner queue, use the
-p (partition name)
option to srun, salloc, or sbatch.
