Licensed Software

Running licensed software is allowed on Palmetto. However, users must follow the terms of the software license.

Site Licenses

A select catalog of popular commercial software is available to all Clemson University users on Palmetto through our site licenses.

List of Commercial Software available for general use on Palmetto:

• MATLAB
• ANSYS
• Abaqus
• COMSOL
• Gaussian 16
• Gurobi

However, some site licenses have limits on the number of concurrent jobs. Check the corresponding Software page in our documentation to find out more about the availability of licenses.

Individual or Group Licenses

Individual-owned or group-owned licensed software can also be run on Palmetto.

If you install your own licensed software on Palmetto, you are responsible for abiding by the terms of the software license. You must also protect the permissions of the files to guard against unauthorized access by other users.

We can also help install and maintain commercial software that you may want to run on Palmetto. If you would like to run a particular software on Palmetto, please reach out to us to see if the software is compatible with the Operating System running on Palmetto.
