AI Code Assistants
AI code assistants can help with routine software-development work on Clemson systems: reading code, drafting job scripts, interpreting job output, and suggesting small changes. RCD currently supports Codex on Palmetto and may add other tool-specific pages over time.
On Palmetto, AI code assistants must be run inside Slurm compute sessions. Start with the Palmetto-specific guidance below.
Available Tools
Codex
Codex is the primary RCD-supported AI code assistant on Palmetto. See Codex on Palmetto for module use, authentication, and Palmetto-managed defaults.
Other Tools
Other AI code assistants, such as Claude Code, may be used on Palmetto if they follow the same cluster rules around compute sessions, data handling, shared storage, and Slurm usage. RCD does not currently provide the same level of central configuration for those tools.
